Rick Butler Retires from RMWBH After a 45-Plus Year Career

After a storied 45-plus year career, Rick Butler has retired from RMWBH effect May 31, 2023. Rick spent his career establishing relationships and growing partnerships with developers, property owner associations and professional management across the State of Texas. In some cases, those relationships span the entirety of his career in real estate law. Rick leaves behind a legacy at RMWBH that is impossible to replace. His leadership, and partnership with Roy Hailey, for many years at Butler Hailey is known and still talked about by many across the real estate industry. That has continued since their merger with Roberts Markel Weinberg in 2014 to create RMWBH.

We wish Rick all the best in the years ahead as he gets to spend more time with his wife Mimi and their daughters, and enjoy his other great passion, golf.

Congratulations Rick on a great career and thank you for everything!

Noelle Hicks Receives Award of Excellence in Chapter Leadership from CAI

Congratulations to Shareholder Noelle Hicks on receiving the Award of Excellence in Chapter Leadership at Community Associations Institute’s 2023 Annual Conference and Expo. Noelle received this award for her many contributions to CAI’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force and meeting with chapter boards around the country to facilitate discussion around the best practices and next steps. Along with her DEI work, Noelle has lessened the stigma around the discussion of mental health in our communities with her work on CAI’s Minding Mental Illness guide. All of us at RMWBH are extremely proud of Noelle for all she has accomplished, and her continuous contributions to the community association industry.

RMWBH Welcomes Two New Attorneys

RMWBH is excited to announce two new attorneys have joined the firm. Caleb Wood joins RMWBH as an Associate in our Real Estate Practice based out of the firm's San Antonio Office. Caleb assists clients from the letter of intent for a real estate transaction through closing and advises clients on potential title issues, legal, and risk issues in the purchase of the property. Caleb has experience drafting purchase and sale agreements, easement agreements, title and survey objections, and more to achieve the client’s goals for the transaction.

Kelton Wilkins joins RMWBH as a Staff Attorney in our Community Association Law Section based out of the firm's Houston Office. Kelton guides clients through the collections and deed restriction violations process to ensure all facts are taken into account and the proper legal research has been conducted. Kelton also assists clients through the post-judgment collections process to ensure their legal needs are met and they have an understanding of the judicial and non-judicial foreclosure process.

With the eyes of the nation on the political side of the legislature, the session ended, thankfully, with more of a whimper than a bang for POAs.
