RMWBH’s POA Education Program Moves to the Next Level in 2022

By RMWBH Team | Community Association Newsletter | Comments are Closed | 3 January, 2022 | 0

The beginning of a new year is here once again. In this time of resolution making, we are also making a resolution. Our resolution is to continue improving and enhancing our POA education and unlike most resolutions, this is one that will not be abandoned a few weeks into the new year.

Throughout our 2022 education program, you will see three themes that persist throughout our articles, webinars and what we hope can begin again during the year, in-person education. Our themes are:

  1. New enhanced education courses via our 101 and 201 webinars.
  2. Information on the legislative process and how you can become involved to have your voice heard.
  3. Articles and special webinars covering the current events effecting the POA industry.

Below is a short breakdown of what to expect from each of these themes.

101 and 201 Courses

The biggest change to our education program comes in the form or our new 101 and 201 courses. This new program targeted at community managers and board members will offer both  basic and advanced information that  managers and board members need to ensure their POAs are run efficiently and effectively.

Each month, beginning in February, we will be hosting a 101 and 201 course covering a specific topic. The 101 course is intended for all managers and board members. The course will offer a basic look at the topic that will help new managers and board members get their time in the POA industry off on the right foot. The 101 courses also offer experienced managers and board members the chance at a refresher of the basics that may sometimes be forgotten in the trenches of everyday duties.

The 201 course is intended for more experienced managers and board members and those managers looking to take the next steps in their careers. These courses will offer a more advanced look at each topic by going in-depth into the legal process behind each topic, discussing hypothetical scenarios that can take place daily in POAs across Texas and offering solutions on how to best serve your communities in your roles.

Each of these courses will count towards one-hour of CE credit and should prove to be exciting and informative hours of education.

Legislative Process Information

In the aftermath of the 87th Texas Legislative Session, our POA attorneys have been repeatedly asked how these changes happened and how can we become involved in the process. Throughout 2022, we will answer these questions in articles and in special webinars. While the legislature may not be in session this year, it is never too early to begin preparing for the next session. Bill filing for the 88th Texas Legislative Session is only a short 11 months away. The time to bring awareness to the issues affecting POAs is short and our hope for 2022 is to bring you the information you need to ensure becoming involved in the legislative process is clearer.

Current Events

If 2021 taught us anything, it is that the POA industry continues to be unpredictable. From a continuing global pandemic to a statewide freeze and many industry shaking legislative changes, you turned to RMWBH to answer your questions quickly and effectively. We hope 2022 is much calmer in terms of industry shaking events, but should the need arise, RMWBH will be ready to provide the information you need through articles and webinars on the events affecting you.
